Julianne moved from her home state of Virginia to join the OSA Conservation Lab as a Collections Technician in 2026. Before joining the lab team, she attended the University of Virginia, where she earned her MA in Anthropological Archaeology. During her time at UVA, Julianne served as the department’s Archaeology Collections Manager, leading a project that involved the curation of an unmanaged collection of archaeological artifacts and ethnological objects into a study collection for teaching and research. Julianne also holds a BS in Anthropology and BA in Art History from James Madison University.

In addition to her educational endeavors, Julianne supplemented her studies with practical work in field, lab, and collections settings. She has assisted with historical archaeology projects and excavations throughout the Virginia Piedmont and Shenandoah Valley and completed collections-focused internships at several museums, including Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, the Alexandria Archaeology Museum, and the Virginia Quilt Museum.
