Rick Allen co-founder of Nautilus ProductionsRick Allen, co-founder of Nautilus Productions, broadcast video producer and videographer, has been diving the oceans of the world and shooting video since 1983. His work has appeared on ABC, A&E, CBS, ESPN, Discovery, The Learning Channel and other networks. He has followed SWAT police teams on drug busts, landed on and been shot off an aircraft carrier, weathered live broadcasts through hurricanes and been beside sand tiger sharks during underwater expeditions. After 12 years in television, Allen opened his own production company in 1997. He focuses on documentary production and freelance underwater video services and has just completed a one hour documentary about the World War II U-boat war along coastal North America entitled Assault on America - The Battle for Torpedo Junction. The Canadian History Channel will air the program in spring 2001. Since 1998, Allen has been videographer for the QAR project. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communications from N.C. State University.

 


Bill Lovin of Marine GraficsBill Lovin, is an underwater filmmaker who has worked in television and film for more than 30 years. Working heavily in sports, he has traveled widely for CBS, NBC and ABC and has covered the Olympic Games, skiing, sailing and other sports; and also has recorded numerous commercials and documentaries. In the early 1970's, he began combining diving and filmmaking, shooting network assignments and eventually his own films. Assignments have included whales in Patagonia, an award winning special for PBS on diving children, spots for Good Morning America and CBS News. From 1991-93, Lovin was on-camera host for a Public Broadcasting series, Return to the Sea, that showed ordinary people exploring the ocean. Two other award winning series, Oceans Alive! and Seahouse, also were produced. His production company, Marine Grafics, provides specialized footage for video productions and produces marine and science/nature videos and internet events, including QARLive. Lovin received the Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and film from UNC-Chapel Hill.
