N.C. Division of Archives & History

The third oldest historical agency in the country, the Division of Archives and History in Raleigh promotes, educates and preserves North Carolina's rich history through a network of state historic sites, the state archives, the state archaeology and historic preservation office, and historical publications. The division, an agency of the N.C. Department of Cultural Resources, has coordinated the state's involvement in this exciting discovery and will work to ensure preservation of the results.
