We are all deeply saddened with the passing of
Phil Masters. The QAR project and the Beaufort area were
his adopted family and home and he never wavered from wanting the
best for both. His dream was to see the highest archaeological standards
applied during exploration and recovery of Queen Anne's Revenge.
He sought, as well, to have a fitting museum facility established
in the Beaufort area to satisfy worldwide interest in the shipwreck
and for the benefit of all North Carolinians. The QAR project
and its associates greatly regret that Phil is not with us as we
continue full recovery of artifacts from his amazing discovery.
