The shipwreck has been the subject of documentaries by the University of North Carolina/Public Television, BBC, National Geographic and the Discovery Channel, as well as live feature segments on CNN, the History Channel and Good Morning America. Well over a thousand articles have appeared in publications from the New York Times to Smithsonian magazine.
