The Sustenance artifact class contains items used for food preparation and consumption. Food preparation includes basic categories of food, fuel for cooking, items used for food preparation and consumption, including the galley stove. Within the consumption classification are tableware items including ceramic vessels, glass bottles, and pewter flatware and utensils. The galley was generally located amidships. In a traditional vessel, officers dined in the stern quarter and crew ate forward of the main mast.
