Three brass straight pins approximately 1 inch in length were found within a concretion that also contained textile fragments. These pins feature straight shanks that taper to a point and a head fashioned from a second piece of wire wrapped around the shank and flattened into a button. Straight pins are often found on shipwreck sites and do not necessarily represent gender distinctions in the artifact assemblage.
