As well as hoop fragments several pieces of wood staves and head fragment has been recovered. The largest stave piece is nearly complete with only the ends broken off at the groove. The estimated diameter of the cask is 36 inches at the widest point. This stave was found in close proximity to the head fragment that exhibits a canted edge and has an estimated diameter of 18 inches. These pieces were found in association with both animal bones and a large number of iron nails.
