Sacrificial planking or sheathing, mostly sprung or otherwise dislocated, was observed and recorded in several different locations on the site, but particularly in and around the articulated hull structure. The thickness varied between 0.75 and 1.0 inch but averaged around 0.87 inch. The average width measured 12.50 inches. Botanical analysis revealed a Sylvestris group pine, most likely red pine.
