An important aspect of keeping any wooden ship afloat was the work of the carpenters, caulkers, and the coopers. Their tools included items such as axes, adzes, hammers, gouges, awls, files, pry bars, and saws. A gouge and a mechanical lifting jack have been reported so far. |
